A
key thematic feature of CELS is the suite of
research initiatives and applied technologies
all directed towards environmental restoration.
Approaches vary from biological, to physical,
to biogeochemical, reflecting the multidisciplinary
nature of environmental restoration. Applications
are global; however, restoration challenges
facing Rhode Island – a populous state
with rich coastal resources and a significant
industrial base – remain the focal point
of research and application.
